My Education History

 My SPM result
In 2005I took Examination of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and I got 10As 1B result. I would like to thank all the teachers taught me before and my school principal. They gave me a lot of taught and encourage. And also, I appreciated the guidance gave by my mentor in life – Daisaku Ikeda. Daisaku Ikeda is a Buddhist leader, peacebuilder, a prolific writer, poet, educator and founder of a number of cultural, educational and peace research institutions around the world.

After SPM, I studied Diploma of Electronics Engineering in UTM, International Campus, Kuala Lumpur. I learned how to be independent and took care of myself. I also knew many friends there. They are from different places of Malaysia. We mixed well among us.

I gained my basic knowledge of Electronics Engineering. In the first semester in diploma, Electrical & Electronics Workshop is one of the subjects taken. It’s a course to expose technical practical to the students. In Electrical Workshop, my group members and I worked together to fix the electrical wire within certain time limit. While the Electronics Workshop was more challenging task. There were 3 tasks in this workshop, which were design and fit the electronic components on Project Board, Proto Board and PCB Board.

I had completed the test and examination, assignments and projects in the diploma study. I learnt some useful software such as Programming C, C++, MATLAB and Multisim. Besides that, I did a Microprocessor 68000 Project. The project was Security System using Microprocessor 68000. The system will open if the user entered the right password. If the user keyed in wrong password, the system will turn off until the user reset it.

Furthermore, in the last semester, my group successfully completed a robotic project. It was a fire extinguisher robotThe fire extinguisher is used to extinguish the fire automatically when it detects a frame in a certain area. It is very useful in many places such as houses, offices, stores, factories and etc. In addition, the fire extinguisher also can reduce the time to extinguish the fire and it may help us to extinguish the fire as soon as possible to minimize the loss that caused by the fire. The main idea and the basic function of this robot is to detect fire and put out the fire. This robot can be activated by an alarm system or manually. Once the robot is activated, it will rotate 360° to scan the area for fire. If there is no fire detected, the robot will roam the surrounding area to get the better detection for 10 seconds. After the 10 seconds roaming, it will scan the area again by rotating 360°. If there is still no fire detected, it will roam the area for the third time. After the last attempt to detect the fire fails, it will go on off mode until there is fire detected or being on manually.

In the same semester, my two group member and I did a hand-on project for Manufacturing Electronics subject. Our project is lamp dimmer. When the SPST switch is closed, the dc power supply supplies 12V to 555 timer and pnp transistor. The 555 timer will start to operate. It is as an astable multivibrator to produce square wave at the output. Then, the square wave is feed to npn transistor. The complementary npn and pnp transistors act as switching function to ON the lamp. The brightness of the lamp is depending on the output waveform of 555 timer. After overcoming some problem faced during the making process, we are glad we have finished our project. The project went on as we planned and achieved the objective stated earlier. In addition, thorough planning and discussion with group members helped us to finish this project.

On the other hand, i also studied Engineering Management in diploma. In this subject, My friends and I had to go interview a manager and ask him/her about his/her job scope and how he/she manage the subordinates. My group consisted of five persons. We decided to interview Food and Beverage Manager in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

After finish my study in Diploma of Electronics Engineering, I got Dean's List Award in 2009.My CGPA in Diploma is 3.98.
I were receiving Dean's List Award from Dean of College of Science and Technology, UTMKL
Course mates and I who received Dean's List Award 2009
My Dean's List Award Certificate and Gold Medal

As mentioned above, presently, I am studying Degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering. I got the Putrajaya Perdana Scholarship Award in 2009 to afford the university fee and my living cost. Therefore, I can gain more knowledge and technical skills in UTM. I have good understanding the electrical theory and practical. I have done laboratories, assignments and hands-on projects in university.

This picture was taken on Putrajaya Perdana Scholarship Award 2010, which was my second year to receive this award.
The laboratories include Basic Communication Lab, Control and Instrument Lab, Industrial Electronics Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Digital Communication Lab and etc. For Electronics Lab, I had to  use Multisim to do  preliminary exercise before carrying out the experiment. Each lab took 3 hours every week. I exposed to the practical experience in laboratory. I also familiar with the use of equipment and the experimental techniques in several electrical engineering laboratories. Moreover, the laboratories also  had  improved my communication skills especially in laboratory report writing. I also worked together effectively win team.

In Microprocessor Lab, I had learned Easy68K software to make a list of program and check the program to obtain the desired result. Also, i used Flight 68K connected with computer to get the predetermined output.

While, every subject has its own related assignment needs students to complete. For example, in 2010/2011 semester 1,  in Principle of Basic Communication, my two group members and I had studied and presented our topic, which was "AM DSB-FC Transmitter" and "The Reality of National Broadband Initiative". We used MATLAB to design the AM DSB-FC Transmitter.

AM DSB-FC Transmitter Report

We did research and survey of the National Broadband Initiative (NBI), which launched by our Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak on 24th March 2010 at Dataran Merdeka. This program is very important in the aspect of socialization and economy transformation for country development to lead Malaysia into a high income nation where the citizens are knowledgeable and innovative. Nowadays, broadband has became a necessary as it can provide high-speed internet service anytime anywhere, so everyone can be connected with latest information. Broadband provides quality lifestyle for citizens if the initiatives being being out properly and the target is achieved.

Last semester, I designed a digital clock using Altera Quartus II. The digital clock will count 0 - 59 seconds, then 1 - 59 minutes and 59 seconds and from 1 to  12 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds. Then, it will repeat again.

Currently I also use T-Spice in a subject, which is Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI). I use the software to make circuit schematic, run the design, to get the circuit output, do layout of the circuit and get the netlist of the corresponding circuit schematic and laount and then compare both of them to determine the circuits are equal.

I am fluent in read, written and spoken English, Malay and Mandarin. In addition, I have basic proficiency in Japanese Language. This is because I had studied Japanese Language for 1 year in UTM, Skudai.

As mentioned before, I used different software to accomplish different subject assignments. So, I have computer software skills such as Multisim, TSpice, Altera Quartus II, Easy68K, IDE68K, Matlab, C, C++ and Microsoft Office.

Moreover, in January 2011, I attended a short course, Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008). It was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hasbullah Bin Idris, Senior Lecturer, Head of Department    Material Enginnering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM. Therefore, I have a basic understanding of QMS.Quality is the ability of a set of inherent characteristics of a product, system or or process to fulfill requirements of customers and other interest parties. Quality must be in customer terms. The judgement of quality lies on how well their needs and expectations are satisfied. ISO is the International Organization for Standardization which facilities the creation and voluntary adoption of world wide industrial and manufacturing standards. Therefore, ISO 9000 is a written set of standards, which describes and defines the basic elements of the quality system needed to ensure that an organization's products or services meet or exceed customer neds and expectation. The Quality Management Principles are customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, precess approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

Furthermore, I will do industrial training in R&D LASER FAX (Electrical) Department at Panasonic System Networks Malaysia  in Senai. The duration is at least 10 weeks. The objective of the industrial training is to expose and enhance my technical-minded and practical skills of actual working environment. The knowledge and experience gained from the industrial training will help me in my future undertaking.
